Prof. Ken Mogi is a renowned neuroscientist, author, and broadcaster, best known for his work on consciousness, qualia, and the intersection of neuroscience and culture. He is a senior researcher at Sony Computer Science Laboratories and a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo. He earned his B.A. degrees in Physics and Law, and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Tokyo. His postdoctoral research took him to RIKEN and the University of Cambridge before he joined Sony CSL, where he continues to explore the mysteries of the human mind. Prof. Mogi has published over 100 books in Japanese, including international bestsellers such as "The Little Book of Ikigai" and "The Way of Nagomi". He was the first Japanese speaker on the main TED stage and has contributed to global programs including Closer to Truth. In Japan, he is also a popular science communicator, regularly appearing on NHK and other media platforms. His work bridges science, philosophy, and art, making him a uniquely insightful voice in discussions on consciousness, emotion, and human–AI relationships.
Prof. Zhigeng Pan earned his Ph.D. in 1993 and became a full professor at Zhejiang University by 1996, recognized for his outstanding scholarly contributions. He has authored over 100 technical papers in top-tier journals and conferences, including PAMI, TVCG, IEEE Multimedia, ACM Multimedia, and IEEE VR. A senior member of IEEE and ACM SIGGRAPH, his research spans virtual reality, computer graphics, and human–computer interaction. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Transactions on Edutainment. Prof. Pan has also taken leadership roles as program co-chair of CASA 2011, SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 (Sketches & Poster sessions), IEEE VR 2013, SIGGRAPH Asia 2016 (Education Symposium), and conference co-chair for VRCAI 2012, 2013, 2015, and CW 2016.
